My daughter, Ashley, came to visit me last week. She was here to see her father who’s been in the hospital for a while. Ashley also came to check on me. Both she and my mother-in-law arrived on the same day. They came to offer support to me as well. All three of us are photographers. I’m proud of both of their accomplishments. My mother-in-law has been shooting for a few years, and Ashley has been shooting for over 8 years. Ashley is also a sewist, and has created some remarkable pieces. Her blog and Instagram are the “Introvert Stylist”.
Ashley brought some of her pieces with her for a photo shoot. She needed some content for her blog. I haven’t had anyone in front of my camera since the first Saturday in January other than myself. Part of me wants to do a session, but the other part doesn’t feel as if I have the energy to complete a session. Having a loved one in the hospital is mentally and physically draining. Being able to work with people who understand my mental state was a blessing. It was great working with my mother-in-law and my kid.
In our first session, Ashley wore the skirt, jacket, and shirt that she made. Let me tell you that she looked amazing! I am so proud of the work that she’s done, and is doing. The sky was overcast, and the light was nice and even. Also, it had been raining, and I didn’t want to bring my lights outside. My mother-in-law and I took turns capturing the images that Ashley wanted. It was a great distraction, and a beautiful time spent with family.
