As photographers, we don’t always like being in front of the camera, but we’re willing to help another photographer bring his/her vision to life. This happened for me in March. I put out a call for a model to shoot, and a fellow photog agreed to sit for me. It was at the Sekrit Garden. We planned to meet at 1:00pm on a Sunday. I packed all of my gear just in case I wanted to use Off-Camera flash. However, the day was overcast, and I was happy. This is my favorite type of day for sessions. The clouds are a natural filter, and the light is flattering.
Jewell is a local portrait photographer, and her work is beautiful. I met her in a Facebook photography book, and we met in person when I moved to Austin last year. I love her style, and she’s a great person. I really enjoy being around her.
Our session started in the greenhouse which is my favorite spot at the Sekrit Theater. We used this spot the most because it protected us from the light drizzle from the rain. Ultimately, we moved to a path that lead away from the greenhouse, and then to the porch of this little building. When I culled the session, it gave me a “Queen Sugar” type of vibe.
Enjoy!
