On the last Saturday in September, I had a photo shoot in Downtown Round Rock, Texas. The session was scheduled earlier in the week because I needed to shoot. I have a session scheduled for October, but I needed to get behind the lens before that date. I had a t-shirt that I purchased from Banana Republic which I paired with the pink tutu in my client wardrobe. I hadn’t used it in several years, and knew that it would look great with the shirt.
I posted a model call in one of my Facebook groups, and there were several responses. I selected Michele B because I liked her look. I asked her to place her hair in a messy bun, to do her own makeup, and to wear a pair of black boots. She provided three different choices for the boots, and I chose a pair that reminded me of the 1920s.
We met at 8:00am, and the area was practically deserted! I loved it. We were able to grab a few images in the middle of the street. I used my Godox VS1 with a soft box, and the images were great! Our next location was across the street from the Round Rock library. We had the sidewalk to ourselves.
Our last location was on a platform. Downtown Round Rock was recently renovated, and there are nice little sitting areas on the main street. The light was dappled so I used OCF to illuminate Michele. At the end of our session, she asked if I would snap some pictures on her phone with a famous Round Rock large doughnut. Since my light was still up, I grabbed some images with my camera.
