I am a Women’s Portrait Photographer who captures women who want to break the cycle of self-neglect by honoring their journeys. These printed images are printed in albums to document their lives and pass down as family heirlooms. These images become priceless.
I’ve taken many self-portraits, but the most precious image that I have is a phone taken with my cellphone. It’s the last image of my husband and me. It was taken 8 days before he passed away. It’s a simple image of our entangled fingers, but it means the world to me. I will never delete this image.
I am also grateful for the family portrait session that we had before my husband I moved to the Austin area. They are treasures to me. One of the images are in the background of this picture. Whenever visitors came to the apartment, they commented on the beautiful portrait of our family.
As a photographer, I believe strongly in printed images. This simple cell phone image will be printed, framed, and displayed in my bedroom. It’s our last image together, and it’s the most precious thing that I own.
