Have you ever been inspired by a song, article of clothing, or an event? This usually happens for me when I think of a person project. For this particular session, I was inspired by a dress.
I follow Raw Golden Rentals on Instagram. I’m not sure how I found her page, but I am so glad that I did! While I was looking through her dresses, I spotted the Eclipse, and I knew that I had to rent it! It’s everything that I enjoy about being girly! It’s flowy, sparkly, and so pretty! I knew exactly where I would hold the session. All I needed was the model! I also knew that I could incorporate what I learned from Jasmine Jade’s class.
I posted a Time for Print session in one of my local TFP groups, and several models responded. I chose Cetiera for the session. The contract was sent, and the details were finalized. I hoped that the weather would be just right so that the session would be successful. I also wanted to shoot during Golden Light so that the sequins on the dress would sparkle. I’m all about the sparkle! Although I asked the model to do her own make-up, a MUA asked to be part of the project. Heck yeah! I created a mood board for the session, but asked her to use it as a jumping off point. Let me tell you that Angel brought the fire! Cetiera’s make-up was clean, crisp, and amazing!
For the session, I knew that I wanted to use natural light, but I brought my strobe just in case. I also brought my large reflector to use. Cetiera went to make-up early in the afternoon, and met me at Brushy Creek Lake Park for the session. The weather was gorgeous, and the light was amazing. We shot in various locations in the park. Again, I used the techniques that I learned in Jasmine’s class. I also sat in the grass to get a different perspective. My allergies took a hit, but it was so worth it!
